Mechanical Specifications

All Ads
1) The Silicon Valley Creative Directory is created disk to plate. All display ads (CMYK or black & white) must be submitted on CD or Zip Disk. We accept MAC disks in InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator, or any file that can be imported into a InDesign file. Make sure to include all supporting art files and fonts.

2) Please include a color proof of your ad.

3) All half tones should be scanned in at 300 dpi or higher.

4) For ads with black backgrounds, we strongly recommend that you use 50% cyan & 50% magenta under the black.

5) Book trim size is 8 1/2 X 11.

6) Please allow 3/8” on bound side of page. Do not place any live images or text within 3/8” of the left or right edge of the full page ad.

7) Only full page ads, covers and tabs may bleed. Allow .25 bleed on all four sides.

8) Two-page spread advertisers must supply proof with left and right pages clearly indicated.

Inserts
Inserts must provide 6,000 copies printed on stock within the range of 80# gloss text to 100# gloss cover and trimmed to 8.5 X 11. Edge to be bound must be clearly indicated on live sample and live area must be at least 3/8” in from binding edge.

Banners
All banners must be 468 X 60 and include the URL.

Logos
Logo Box Listings - please supply your logo no larger than 1.5 W X .875 H.
